We have a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Senior Quantity Surveyor in Dublin.

You will play a key role in delivering commercial outcomes on a major new Irish Rail contract, supporting the mobilisation and growth of a high-performing commercial team. This is an exciting opportunity to join at an early stage, where you will help shape the commercial function while managing live project delivery.

Working within a collaborative and fast-paced environment, you will balance hands-on project responsibilities with team development, helping to establish strong processes, build client relationships and support future recruitment growth.

Amey’s growth in Ireland is supported by strong partnerships with transport authorities such as Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) and Iarnród Éireann through various infrastructure frameworks. These include projects to improve strategic road and rail networks, enhancing safety, strengthening resilience, and improving connectivity for communities across Ireland.

The standard hours of work are 37.5 per week.

What you will be doing:

  • Deliver pre- and post-contract commercial management across infrastructure projects
  • Take ownership of cost control, including budgets, forecasting and reporting to ensure project performance
  • Manage and review variations, ensuring contractual compliance and timely submissions
  • Lead on subcontract procurement, payments and supply chain engagement
  • Support applications for payment, estimating activities and commercial reporting
  • Build strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration
  • Work closely with the Principal Commercial Manager to support delivery and future team growth
  • Contribute to recruiting, mentoring and developing junior team members
  • Support pricing negotiations and commercial discussions with the client
  • Operate in a hands-on capacity across multiple workstreams, particularly in the early stages of the contract

We want to hear from you if you have:

  • Experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor within infrastructure or civil engineering projects
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen with excellent cost management capability
  • Proven experience working with supply chain, subcontract procurement and payments
  • Experience in estimating, applications for payment and production of commercial reports
  • Ability to build relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Experience operating in a hands-on role within evolving teams or new contracts
  • Familiarity with contract forms and working within target cost or similar environments
  • Degree qualified (RICS or SCSI accredited, or equivalent desirable)

We welcome applications from a diverse range of candidates. If you have most but not all of these skills and experiences, we encourage you to apply, and we will provide you with development or training to support you.
