Title: Environment & Sustainability Adviser
We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Environment & Sustainability Adviser to join our dynamic Rail - Transport infrastructure team. This is mostly a remote working role with regular site visits across the UK and monthly team meetings in Birmingham – 37.5 hrs per week.
In this role, you will provide environment and sustainability (E&S) support, guidance and information to multiple Rail teams across Amey. Helping co-ordinate the delivery of E&S improvement initiatives across all accounts and projects.
This role offers you a great opportunity to influence E&S across all rail transport infrastructure projects with Amey across the UK. Providing you with opportunities to support and guide rail accounts in environmental risk management and opportunities to progress with Environmental institutions.
What You’ll Do:
- Maintaining Professional Standards
- Provide advice, support and guidance regarding environmental risk management
- In addition to providing environmental risk management guidance and support across all Rail Accounts, two days per week will be spent focussing on the Eastern and Southern account by attending site meetings and co-ordinating environmental and ecological resources.
- Collate, analyse and compile E&S performance data and insight
- Gather and upload E&S data to internal and external performance management systems.
- Support in the creation and presenting of E&S reports, case studies and content for use on a range of communication channels.
- Undertake internal auditing to the ISO 14001 standard Incident / Accident Investigations
- Provide advice, support and guidance regarding environmental incident reporting and incident management and investigation
- Liaise with stakeholders to organise and deliver E&S improvement projects Engagement
- Engage teams in E&S through supporting with training and awareness
- Contribute towards the design and champion E&S engagement campaigns

What You’ll Bring:
- Experience of conducting environmental inspections on construction sites and investigating environmental incidents – Essential.
- Can demonstrate learning in a relevant topic within E&S
- Technical knowledge, backed by some experience in the field of environmental management.
- ISEP Associate (AISEP)
- Desirable – working towards Practitioner ISEP (PISEP)
- Able to conduct incident investigation and provide advice on preventative actions to address root cause
- Able to undertake internal audit to ISO 14001
- Entry level knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Good analytical and writing skills, including development of plans and report
