This role is for a Senior Civil Designer who enjoys working on urban development projects and wants to grow into a Principal Designer role over time. You’ll be hands‑on in design, trusted with complex work, and involved in shaping practical outcomes across residential, commercial and mixed‑use developments, with exposure to supporting infrastructure projects. A principal level role may be offered to the right candidate.

It’s a Brisbane‑based role offering long‑term stability and genuine development, not a rushed step into management.

About the Role:

You’ll be responsible for delivering civil design packages primarily across urban development projects, from early concept and DA through to detailed design for construction. This includes earthworks, roads, stormwater drainage, water and sewer reticulation, preparation. Preparation of BOQ’s as well as coordination with other disciplines to ensure designs are buildable and authority‑ready.

There is also some involvement in broader civil infrastructure work, providing variety without shifting the role away from its urban development core. Alongside your own design workload, you’ll review and guide the work of designers and drafters, act as a technical sounding board, and gradually take on more responsibility coordinating design outputs as the role evolves.

What we’re looking for:

Essential:

• Strong experience in urban development civil design, from concept through to construction
• Confidence producing and reviewing designs using AutoCAD and 12d Model
• Working knowledge of 12d Drainage Module (dynamic drainage desirable)
• Solid understanding of Australian standards including state and local authority requirements
• A practical, delivery‑focused mindset with strong attention to detail
• Willingness to mentor and support other designers

Desirable:

• Some exposure to civil infrastructure projects
• Experience reviewing or coordinating the work of others
• An interest in stepping into a principal role over time
