Finance Manager - Projects

Brisbane

We are looking for a Finance Manager to join our high-performing Finance team and play a key role in supporting the financial integrity and continued growth of our business. Based in Brisbane, you will work closely with the CFO and senior leaders, you will combine strong technical accounting expertise with commercial insight, helping deliver accurate reporting, robust compliance, and strategic business outcomes across the organisation.
 

About the Role:

As part of our collaborative and high‑performing finance team, you’ll work closely with the CFO and senior leaders to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of Group financial reporting, while also providing critical support across projects, systems, and acquisitions.

In this broad and influential role, you will:

  • Support improvements to financial systems, processes, and internal controls.
  • Contribute to feasibility assessments, due diligence, valuations, and the integration of acquired businesses.
  • Oversee monthly and annual financial reporting, including balance sheet and P&L reviews.
  • Support statutory compliance, external audits, and year‑end reporting requirements.
  • Lead or contribute to month‑end close on rotation, providing essential coverage and continuity.
  • Manage key tax and statutory obligations including GST, PAYG, Payroll Tax, Superannuation, Company Tax and FBT.
  • Provide financial insights, budgeting support, and analysis to the CFO and business leaders.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, auditors, advisors, and the broader Amey UK Group.

About You:

You’ll be successful in this role if you bring:

  • 7+ years’ relevant experience in financial accounting, reporting, and compliance.
  • CPA or CA qualification (completed).
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and confidence navigating complex reporting environments.
  • Experience supporting audits, statutory reporting, and financial governance.
  • The ability to analyse data, interpret trends, and communicate insights clearly.
  • A proactive approach to problem‑solving and process improvement.
  • Leadership capability and a genuine commitment to contributing to a positive team culture.
