Title: CIS Engineer
We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent CIS Engineer based onsite in Central London with occasional travel to other local sites.
The salary is £43,000 - £45,000
HOURS OF WORK: 37.5 Hours per week

The CIS Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for the maintenance, support, patching, and fault resolution of critical IT infrastructure within highly secure and regulated environments. The role requires a security-first approach to infrastructure management, ensuring systems remain compliant, available, and operational whilst adhering to strict security, change management, and operational procedures.
The successful candidate will possess significant experience supporting enterprise infrastructure environments and be capable of independently troubleshooting complex technical issues, implementing approved changes, and maintaining systems in accordance with security and compliance requirements.
A key focus of the role is the delivery of infrastructure patching activities, proactive maintenance, fault diagnosis, and service restoration across secure environments where availability, integrity, and security are critical.
What you will do:
- Perform routine infrastructure patching, updates, and maintenance activities across server, network, and supporting infrastructure platforms.
- Investigate, diagnose, and resolve infrastructure-related faults, ensuring timely restoration of services and minimising operational impact.
- Support and maintain secure IT environments in accordance with established security policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Monitor infrastructure health, identify risks, and proactively address potential issues before they impact service availability.
- Participate in incident management activities, including root cause analysis and implementation of preventative measures.
- Work within strict change control processes to plan, document, test, and implement infrastructure changes.
- Support infrastructure technologies including Windows Server, Active Directory, virtualisation platforms, storage systems, and network infrastructure.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, asset records, and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with engineering teams, service desk personnel, and operational stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery.
- Assist with infrastructure projects, upgrades, technology refresh programmes, and system improvements.
- Support compliance and security audits by ensuring systems are maintained to required standards.
- Escalate complex technical issues where appropriate while maintaining ownership through to resolution.
What you will bring:
- Must have experience in an Infrastructure Engineer, Systems Engineer, or equivalent technical support role.
- Demonstrable experience working within secure, regulated or mission-critical environments.
- Proven experience delivering infrastructure patching programmes and vulnerability remediation activities.
- Strong background in infrastructure fault finding, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
- Experience working within formal change management and incident management processes.
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale infrastructure environments.
