Plumber – HMP Risley (Warrington WA3 6BP)
Salary: £30,866 – £36,135 + 15% shift allowance (1 in 3 weekends)
Hours: 39 hours per week (rota basis)

 

Work pattern: Rota basis

  • Saturday–Thursday: 08:00–17:00
  • Friday: 08:00–16:00
  • 1 in 3 weekends (with 15% allowance)

 

We’re looking for a qualified Plumber to join the team at HMP Risley. This is a stable, long-term role on a single site with no travelling between jobs.

You’ll work as part of the onsite maintenance team, helping keep the prison safe, operational, and compliant.


The role

  • Carry out planned and reactive plumbing maintenance

  • Repair mains water systems and pipework

  • Fault find and fix issues across the site

  • Complete inspections, water sampling, and basic risk checks

  • Identify and report deteriorating equipment


What you’ll need

  • NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing & Heating

  • Experience in maintenance (ideally commercial or FM)

  • Full UK driving licence

  • Basic knowledge of water hygiene / Legionella (training can be provided)
