£28,792 – £33,532 + 15% weekend allowance
39 hours per week
Shift pattern:
- Mon–Thu: 07:45–16:45
- Fri–Sun: 07:45–15:45
- 1 in 4 weekends (paid at +15%)
What’s the job?
You’ll be carrying out planned and reactive painting/decorating across the prison.
This is a steady, on-site role – no travelling site to site.
You’ll also:
- Prep and paint cells, landings, offices and communal areas
- Look after your tools and materials
- Work safely at all times (H&S is key)
- Support and guide prisoners on basic decorating tasks
What you need
- NVQ Level 2 Painting & Decorating is an essential minimum qualification
- Solid background in painting/decorating work
- Comfortable working in a prison environment, alongside and supervising work of prisoners
- Good understanding of H&S and safe systems of work
