Title: Quality Assistant
We have a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Quality Assistant to join our Specialist Bridges Inspection and Maintenance (SBIM) account based at Avonmouth Bridge.
The SBIM contract delivers essential inspection, maintenance and improvement works across some of the UK's most significant bridge assets, helping to keep vital transport links safe, reliable and operational for millions of road users every year.
As a Quality Assistant, you will provide key support to the contract's Quality function, helping to ensure compliance, assurance and continuous improvement activities are effectively managed and embedded across operational delivery.
The Role
Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will support the administration and coordination of quality activities across the contract. You will maintain quality records and documentation, support audits and corrective actions, monitor improvement plans and help ensure compliance with contractual, business and industry requirements.
Working closely with operational teams, Health & Safety colleagues, management teams and the client, you will play an important role in promoting a positive quality culture and ensuring quality standards remain at the heart of everything we do.
You will be responsible for:
- Supporting the ongoing maintenance and improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Maintaining quality records and documentation to ensure they remain accurate, controlled and compliant.
- Assisting with the administration and close-out of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
- Supporting root cause investigations and monitoring corrective and preventative actions.
- Coordinating and preparing documentation for internal and external audits.
- Tracking audit findings and improvement actions through to completion.
- Supporting compliance with ISO 9001, contract requirements, client standards and business procedures.
- Producing quality reports, dashboards and performance metrics.
- Coordinating quality briefings and maintaining associated compliance records.
- Acting as a central point of contact for quality documentation and records.
- Supporting quality improvement initiatives across the contract.
- Monitoring quality action plans and reporting on progress.
- Working collaboratively with operational, commercial and HSEQ teams to promote consistent quality standards.
- Providing administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of quality and assurance processes.
- Supporting documentation reviews and process improvement activities.
- Assisting with the implementation of new quality initiatives and business improvements.

- Experience supporting audits and compliance activities.
- Understanding of ISO 9001 standards.
- Experience producing reports, trackers and performance information.
