Title:  Assistant Quantity Surveyor

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic Trafford team at our Trafford Depot in Manchester (M23 9LF). 

 

The standard working hours for this role are 40 hours per week (Monday – Friday). This role is office based and will be carried out on-site.

 

In this role, you will work as part of the Quantity Surveying team to accurately value the works undertaken by the operational teams and, where necessary, gather and provide records to substantiate costs.

 

What You’ll Do:

· Commit to following the spirit of the Amey Code, ensuring effective communication with our client(s) and internally

· Assist the Quantity Surveyor/Commercial Manager to ensure compliance with the Amey systems, processes and procedures on Contracts between £ 1-5m p.a.

· Assist in the preparation of any data required to populate commercial reports including Cost Value Reconciliations and cash flows as directed

· Assist the Quantity Surveyor/Commercial Manager to exercise full cost control of project(s) as directed

· Manage the subcontract procurement and ensure timely and justified payments are made to subcontractors

· Ensure that all contemporary records are kept by the project team members for use in supporting claims, extensions of time, and the evaluation of variations

· Ensure compliance with Health and Safety, Environmental, and other regulations.

· Manage workload, delivery, and team efficiency, including technical training and development.

· Assist in formulating financial reports for internal and external purposes

What You’ll Bring:

· Have or be working towards a degree qualification (RICS Accredited or equivalent) or RICS Associate

· Methodical style of working

· Ability to time-manage, set priorities and work to strict deadlines

· Strong commercial and financial acumen

· Proven track record to demonstrate skills and qualifications

· Experience/knowledge of working in a multi-disciplinary environment Experience/knowledge in the preparation of the interim and final accounts
