Title: Senior Recruiter
We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a 2‑month Fixed Term opportunity for a Senior Recruiter to join our Transport Infrastructure recruitment team, covering a colleague’s secondment. This role plays a critical part in supporting live and upcoming recruitment demand across our highways, rail and infrastructure contracts.
Amey Transport Infrastructure works with National Highways, Local Authority Highways, Highways Scotland and Rail customers. Our work directly supports safer roads, improved rail networks and well‑maintained public spaces and this role helps ensure we have the right people in place to deliver that.
You’ll manage a mix of high‑volume and technical recruitment, hiring everything from frontline operatives, supervisors, operational managers and office‑based professionals.
What You’ll Do:
- Manage end‑to‑end recruitment across a wide range of roles, from vacancy briefing through to offer management.
- Deliver high‑volume recruitment for frontline and operational roles while also supporting technical and specialist hiring.
- Build and maintain talent pipelines for hard‑to‑fill roles, ensuring we are proactive rather than reactive in our approach.
- Plan and run recruitment campaigns, including attraction activity, job advertising, sourcing, and attendance at recruitment fairs and events.
- Work closely with hiring managers and senior stakeholders to understand their workforce needs, challenge where appropriate, and agree realistic hiring plans.
- Use recruitment data (time‑to‑hire, vacancy volumes, pipeline health, diversity insights) to prioritise activity and improve recruitment outcomes.
- Reduce reliance on agencies by strengthening direct sourcing, referrals and pipeline activity where possible.
- Keep up to date with labour market trends across highways, rail and infrastructure to inform recruitment planning.

You’re confident building strong relationships with senior stakeholders, able to manage priorities and stay organised during busy periods.
This is a home‑based role that requires a full UK driving licence and regular travel to sites, recruitment fairs and stakeholder meetings, helping you build a strong understanding of our accounts, culture and workforce needs.
If you’re motivated by making a real impact and enjoy a varied recruitment role, we’d love to hear from you.
