Title:  Facilities Manager

Requisition ID:  11047

We’re offering an opportunity for a Facilities Manager to take ownership of the estate at HMP Leicester, a key prison at the heart of the city supporting the local justice system.

Working for Amey, you’ll play a vital role in keeping the prison safe, compliant, and fully operational, ensuring the environment supports staff, prisoners, and critical public services every day.

This is a Monday–Friday role, on a stable long-term contract, ideal for an FM professional who wants responsibility, structure, and career development — without unsociable hours.

What you will do:

  • Managing planned and reactive maintenance across the prison estate
  • Ensuring full statutory and mandatory compliance (audits, inspections, reporting)
  • Leading health, safety and risk management across site
  • Overseeing FM teams and subcontractors to deliver against KPIs
  • Acting as the key FM point of contact for the client
  • Managing budgets, costs and small works to maximise value
  • Supporting sustainability and zero-carbon initiatives

You’ll be fully supported by Amey’s wider MoJ FM network and central support teams.

What you will bring:

  • FM or technical qualification (or strong equivalent experience)
  • Solid knowledge of health & safety and compliance
  • Experience managing people, services and budgets
  • Confident communicator, comfortable in operational environments
  • Organised, resilient and solutions-focused

We welcome applications from a diverse range of candidates.

Prison Security Clearance will be required (Amey will support you through this process).
