Starting salary: £28,500 (subject to 2025 review)

Working hours per week:  36 Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm

Location: Glasgow Poldminde G5 OHD

The Team and Role

 

Amey is working in partnership with Transport Scotland Southwest since August 2020, we are responsible for inspections, cyclical maintenance, asset management, scheme delivery as well as winter maintenance and incident response. The team are first on the scene to assist road users on the road network, deliver engineering design and operational delivery services for more than 600 kilometres of road and 1,650 structures enabling reliable journey times and a high level of customer care for the people and businesses that use these roads every day. By ensuring our roads and highways are well-maintained through all-weather seasons and traffic incidents, we aim to create well-functioning, safe spaces which minimise disruption, keep people moving and support thriving communities.

 

As a Quantity Surveyor Graduate, your overall objective of this role is to ensure the effective delivery and maintenance of infrastructure services within NMC SW.

 

You will work alongside the team to:

 

  • Measure and value progress of works.
  • Administration of different types of contracts in the collection, collation, and storage of relevant data.
  • Ensuring that all documentation, work orders, and service sheets are completed and returned to the office for approvals.
  • Estimating quantities, cost, and time scales for material & labour.
  • Documenting any changes in designs and updating budgets.

What We Need From You

 

As a Graduate, other than your relevant degree, we don’t expect you to bring prior experience with you when you join us; we will give you all the skills and opportunities. We therefore keep our list of essential requirements to a minimum, but there are a few things needed to qualify for our programme:

 

  • Minimum 2:2 Degree in Quantity Surveying or Engineering-related discipline
  • UK’s full driving licence.
