Title: Technical Lead
We have an exciting opportunity based in Dublin, where you’ll help shape the future of our rail systems engineering capability in Ireland. As Technical Lead – S&T, you’ll provide technical authority, leadership and confidence across a growing portfolio of safety critical rail projects.

In this role, you will be responsible for shaping technical solutions, assuring engineering integrity and acting as a trusted expert across signalling and telecoms disciplines. You will play a key role in ensuring that complex rail systems are designed, assured and delivered safely, compliantly and efficiently.
What You’ll Do:
- Acting as the technical authority for S&T activities across rail projects, providing direction, challenge and assurance
- Undertaking the role of Designated Project Engineer (DPE), Contractors Engineering Manager (CEM) or Contractor’s Responsible Engineer (CRE) where appointed
- Management of Systems Safety Engineering (CSM-RA, EIS, T&C, Systems Integration)
- Providing senior technical input into project planning, design development, method statements and risk assessments
- Leading and coordinating multi‑disciplinary engineering teams to ensure systems integration, compliance and constructability
- Working closely with clients to interpret requirements, provide expert advice and shape practical, safe engineering solutions
- Supporting bids, proposals and early project development, including the presentation of technical solutions to clients
- Providing technical leadership during delivery, installations, testing and commissioning activities
- Supporting Engineering Managers with decisions on engineering resources, capability and technical strategy
- Championing best practice within a safety‑critical rail environment, ensuring engineering decisions prioritise safety, assurance and long‑term asset performance

What You’ll Bring:
- Significant experience in rail systems engineering, with strong expertise in SET disciplines
- Proven ability to operate as a senior technical authority within a safety‑critical rail environment
- Experience working in client‑facing technical roles, providing confident, credible advice and leadership
- Strong understanding of rail systems integration, assurance and safety requirements
- Ability to lead, influence and mentor engineers and project teams
- Comfortable presenting technical solutions and recommendations to senior stakeholders
