About the Team

Amey is seeking talented graduates to join our Systems Engineering Practice. We’re looking for engineers who have an aptitude for systems thinking, able to help define, integrate and deliver whole system engineering solutions. The Practice provides Engineering Management, Information Management, BIM and Systems Engineering expertise to a range of projects across the Consulting Engineering Portfolio, primarily within Rail.

We are an appointed Design Partner on some of the UK’s most significant and complex rail and highways infrastructure projects. We are proud to support major programmes such as Northern Powerhouse Rail, Eastern Routes Partnership, Northwest & Central Framework, Core Valley Lines, Trans-Pennine Route Upgrade, and Cardiff Crossrail. Our in-house engineering team delivers design solutions across all project stages and disciplines, driving improved connectivity, enhancing passenger journeys, and shaping the future of infrastructure safety and efficiency.

What you’ll be doing
 
As a Graduate in our Systems Engineering Practice, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering innovative solutions, working across the whole infrastructure system including railways and rolling stock, operations, and maintenance.

You will work alongside the team to:

• Work as the deputy to the Engineering Manager on a wide range of design projects, applying Systems Engineering techniques and the Amey Engineering Management Manual to define, integrate, and deliver quality engineering solutions.
• Coordinate and support verification and validation activities by the discipline design leads.
• Prepare and review action logs, project programmes, and ensure cross-discipline interfaces are identified and managed.
• Support Engineering Managers and Project Managers using appropriate systems engineering processes and engineering management within the End-to-End Stage Gate process.
• Facilitate impact assessments for project changes.
• Collaborate with Technical Directors, Practice Leads and Team Leaders to drive technical excellence and continuous improvement on multi-disciplinary projects.
• Prepare and review technical reports and programmes of work.
• Work with BIM specialists and Information Managers to support coordination, integration and configuration control activities.

• Engineering Degree at Grade 2:1 or above
• A Full UK driving License
