About the Team
The Climate & Air Quality team sits within Amey Consulting’s Climate & Place practice, part of the Energy, Transition & Sustainability (ET&S) business. You will play an important role in supporting the delivery of our work. You will work in a friendly, supportive environment and will be given one to one support, mentoring, learning and development via experienced colleagues.

As a Graduate Climate & Air Quality Consultant, you will develop practical skills in climate risk and resilience assessment, greenhouse gas emissions and carbon management, environmental data analysis, sustainability reporting, and stakeholder engagement. You will gain experience applying UK climate and air quality policy and guidance, using industry-standard tools and datasets, and supporting the delivery of projects that help clients understand, manage, and adapt to climate-related risks while progressing their sustainability objectives.

You will be joining the Climate & Air Quality team at an exciting period of growth – the former is a rapid area of growth, and we have secured a largescale standalone climate risk and adaption project. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth of our team, to shape and deliver impactful environmental projects, and support in work winning.

What you’ll be doing

• Support the development of climate risk assessments for clients, identifying potential vulnerabilities and exposures to climate-related hazards.
• Utilise climate projections such as UKCP18, and work with dispersion models such as ADMS along with GIS tools, and other analytical methods to evaluate risks.
• Help explore and develop methods of utilising climate data within the CEDA Catalogue.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of tailored climate resilience strategies and action plans for clients, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory standards.
• Support the preparation of proposals and bids for new projects, showcasing the value of air quality and climate resilience consulting.
• Stay informed about the latest developments in climate science, the wider environmental landscape policy, and technology to provide cutting-edge solutions.
• Collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams to create inclusive, distinctive places that respond to climate, nature and community needs.

What we’re looking for

To be considered, you'll need to meet the following requirements:

• A degree (minimum 2:1) in Meteorology, Climatology, Environmental Sciences, Physical Geography, or any other relevant subject.
• Strong knowledge of earth systems and climate change.
• An experienced user of Microsoft Excel and demonstratable experience working with data.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Team player, self-motivated and fast learner.
• Ability to work to deadlines and manage time with multiple tasks with limited supervision.
