Your New Role

 

A fantastic opportunity for a Junior Bid Writer to join our Complex Facilities Work Winning team on a full time, permanent contract. This is a remote role that will require ad-hoc travel to London, Birmingham, or one of our offices across the country. 

 

Amey is looking for a talented Junior Bid Writer to work with the Bids and Proposals teams and subject matter experts to produce winning RFI and bid submissions that are accurate, consistent, and aligned to the client’s requirements. You will provide bid writing services to the bid team, accessing knowledge resources and previous bids to ensure the production of high-quality responses.

 

Bids will vary in duration, size, and complexity: from a few weeks for a Framework Bid, through to multi-stage 18 month long negotiated processes, with contract values anything from £5M pa through to £150M pa.

 

The standard hours of work are based on 37.5 hours, Monday – Friday.

You will be responsible for:

  • Producing high-quality, consistent, and persuasive bid responses, promoting the principles of ‘Plain English’
  • Interviewing subject matter experts to produce compliant and engaging content, conveying technical information and solutions in a clear way
  • Analysing client requirements including compliance and evaluation criteria to help maximise scores across all responses
  • Inputting to answer planning / storyboarding workshops to help structure our responses and shape question content so they are easy to evaluate
  • Supporting development of value propositions and win themes that are aligned to the client’s ‘hot buttons’, ensuring these are articulated effectively throughout all our bid responses to help differentiate Amey
  • Monitoring the overall quality of written content as it progresses, to ensure that it maintains a consistent ‘voice’ throughout
  • Maximising readability, consistency, and accuracy through final editing and proofreading
  • Supporting the post-tender lessons learned process to help embed continuous improvement in bid writing
  • Consistently refreshing content for the bid library to support tender requirements.

 

We want to hear from you if you have:

  • Experience in Bid Writing or similar type of role 
  • Creative Writing Skills 
  • The willingness to learn 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Stakeholder management experience
  • Excellent editorial and proofreading skills with good eye for detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to work towards strict deadlines.
