About the Team
Our Water & Flood Management team helps communities become more resilient to flooding, climate change and environmental pressures through innovative engineering and sustainable solutions. 

We are looking for ambitious and enthusiastic Civil Engineering students to join our growing team in Belfast for a 12 month Industry Placement. This is an exciting opportunity to begin your professional career working alongside experienced engineers on high-profile flood risk, flood resilience, river engineering, drainage and water management projects.

What you’ll be doing

As a Civil Engineering Placement Student within the Water and Flood Management team, you will be involved in the following;

• Support the feasibility, design and delivery of flood risk and water management projects.
• Assist with engineering calculations, technical assessments and design development.
• Prepare engineering drawings and documentation using industry-standard software.
• Contribute to hydrological, hydraulic modelling, flood risk assessments and drainage studies.
• Undertake site visits, inspections and surveys.
• Assist in preparing technical reports, feasibility studies, business cases and client presentations.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, contractors and stakeholders.
• Develop an understanding of relevant design standards, CDM requirements and industry best practice.
• Support project delivery whilst building your path towards professional chartership.

To be considered, you'll need to meet the following requirements:

• working towards a BEng or MEng in Civil Engineering 
• Full UK Driving License
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A collaborative approach and desire to learn from experienced professionals.
• Enthusiasm for water, environmental and flood risk engineering.
