We have a fantastic opportunity for a permanent, Street Cleaning Operative to join our team in Sheffield. This role is based on site at Olive Grove Depot, Olive Grove Road, Sheffield, S2 3GE.

This position offers a competitive salary and overtime.

 

In this role, you will support the Sheffield account as a Street Cleaning Operative, you will handle all street cleaning tasks, including scheduled and reactive works, litter bin emptying, fly tip and graffiti removal, and litter bin installation. Your role is vital in keeping Sheffield clean and attractive, enhancing the quality of life for its residents. By maintaining litter-free and graffiti-free streets and public spaces, you help create a safer and more pleasant environment. Your efforts support the Sheffield account by upholding Amey's values and commitment to excellent customer service, boosting the company's reputation within the community.

What You’ll Do:

  • Undertake all aspects of street cleaning, including scheduled and reactive works, litter bin emptying, fly tip removal, graffiti removal, and litter bin installation.
  • Perform all cleaning duties safely and to a high standard, in line with Amey’s values, and assist in providing a 7-day service which may include weekends and bank holidays.
  • Drive or operate necessary vehicles and equipment, complete safety checks, carry out maintenance, and report defects as required.
  • Report and record the status of street cleaning tasks using handheld electronic devices, and liaise with the public, team members, managers, and sub-contractors professionally.
  • Attend project and work briefings, take responsibility for the safety of team members and the public, and ensure compliance with health and safety legislation.
  • Assist with other contract areas such as winter and grounds maintenance, and undertake other tasks as required.

What You’ll Bring:
