We have a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Highways Maintenance Operative to join our team in Sheffield. This role is based on site at Ecclesfield Depot (S359YR) and around Sheffield.
This position offers a competitive salary and overtime.
In this role, you will support the Sheffield account, playing a vital part in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our road networks. As a Highways Maintenance Operative, your responsibilities will include routine and cyclic maintenance, minor civil works, litter collection, and winter maintenance, all of which are essential for the wellbeing of the community and the environment. By participating in emergency call-out operations and adhering to health and safety regulations, you contribute to protecting lives and maintaining the infrastructure's integrity. Additionally, your duties will involve conducting vehicle checks, operating equipment, and keeping precise records to ensure smooth operations and efficient resource use. Your efforts will have a significant positive impact on the Sheffield account and enhance the quality of life for the public.
What You’ll Do:
- Perform routine and cyclic maintenance activities, minor civil works, litter picking, and winter maintenance operations.
- Participate in emergency call out operations and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Conduct vehicle checks prior to shift, maintain and clean vehicles, and record driver hours.
- Operate vehicles and plant equipment, including routine maintenance and necessary repairs.
- Communicate and liaise with Amey employees, sub-contractors, emergency services, police, and the general public.
- Maintain accurate records and complete necessary paperwork for time and resource utilisation.

What You’ll Bring:
- Full UK clean Drivers Licence (Category B)
- HGV licence (desirable)
- 3-6 months experience on highways network
- TTMBC accreditation
