Highways Engineer

Position: Highways Engineer/Surveyor

Location: Olive Grove Depot

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

The working hours are 40/week

Role Overview:

Working as part of the non-core scheme delivery team on projects ranging from <50k to circa 10million. We are seeking a Highways Engineer/Surveyor to join our small but growing, dynamic team. This role will be working on all schemes within the above scale, working with Project Managers and Supervisors to accurately set out the alignments and locations of new infrastructure throughout the City of Sheffield.

This role would suit a candidate currently working in a similar position who has experience of undertaking these duties within highways construction contracts. We would also consider applications from Postgraduates with a suitable qualification.

You will be responsible for:

• Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation
• Maintain effective communication with the client team, providing regular progress reports on schemes
• Conduct levelling and surveying of construction sites
• Accurately set out project locations based on plans, drawings, and building information models
• Map structural boundaries on the ground with precision
• Utilise levelling techniques to solve onsite challenges
• Review completed scheme designs and offer buildability advice as necessary

We want to hear from you if you have:

• An organised team player with the ability to communicate well with others
• Highway construction background desired
• Experience of operating Leica Total Stations
• Engineering qualification minimum of HNC, or equivalent.
• Operational Health and Safety experience or qualifications desirable
