Your New Role 

We have a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Management Accountant to join our Sheffield Highways PFI contract at Amey Olive Grove Depot, Olive Grove Rd, Lowfield, Sheffield S2 3GE – This role will be hybrid working.

 

The standard hours of work are based on 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday.

 

The salary will be dependent on experience

 

We’re looking for a talented and proactive management accountant looking for their next move in their career to join our Finance team in Sheffield. This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated and ambitious to join a dynamic and forward thinking Finance team.

Reporting to the Finance Manager for the Sheffield Highways PFI contract, you will play a significant part in managing the financial reporting processes for the contract, delivering high quality information to tight deadlines. You will support the Finance Manager in the preparation of management information for the senior leadership team and financial planning activities to support successful decision making.

 

What you will do:

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Ensuring correct revenue and cost allocation across works
  • Analysis of scheme profitability and cost variances, including revenue and cost reconciliations
  • Ad-hoc financial analysis to support decision making across the contract
  • Supporting the business budgeting and forecasting processes and management of actual performance against the latest budget/forecast
  • Production of Balance Sheet reconciliations along with identifying and dealing with potential issues
  • Support in producing the contract cash forecast
  • Liaising with Group Finance on queries

 

We want to hear from you if you have:

  • Qualified or part-qualified looking to progress to qualification (ACCA/CIMA/ACA)
  • Previous management accountancy experience, in a similar environment
  • Strong IT skills, particularly in the use of Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of accounting practices and reporting requirements
  • Experience of supporting the production of management accounts, including working with profit centres and producing variance analyses
  • Organisation and planning skills, with ability to meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of SAP would be a distinct advantage
  • Experience of working within an Infrastructure environment, specifically Highways, Rail, Construction would be preferred but not essential.
