Your New Role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Principal Commercial Manager / Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Complex Facilities Business Unit working on Projects across England and Wales. This is a hybrid role that will require occasional travel.

 

Are you an experienced Principal Commercial Manager (QS trained) with experience in sub - £5m Construction Contracts?

Here at Amey, we have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Commercial Manager to support the Head of Commercial across England and Wales.

You will be responsible for the coaching, development and recruitment of a commercial team and a role model for Amey’s Inclusion and Diversity policy, encouraging an open and honest environment. 

 

The standard hours of work are 37.5 hours based on Monday – Friday.

 

You will be responsible for:

 

  • Maintaining commercial control to enable timely and accurate submissions of payment applications.
  • Producing accurate commercial reports and cost data
  • Monitoring and reviewing Supply Chain performance
  • Pricing works and maximising revenue opportunities.
  • Managing supplier payments in line with contractual and company policy
  • Working closely with procurement to engage and appoint specialist supply chain partners    
  • Attending meetings, provide reports and liaise with all stakeholders on commercial matters
  • Assisting Commercial & Risk Manager in preparing dispute avoidance strategy and any dispute resolution
  • Ensure Security and Fraud prevention systems and processes are adhered to at all time
  • Ensure good general knowledge of contract processes and procedures are always adhered to, advising and supporting as required
  • Identify business priorities and to effectively plan and implement.
  • Maintaining good working relationships with key stakeholders

 

We want to hear from you if you have:

 

  • Commercial QS experience in Facilities Management, construction, property maintenance or related field including:
  • Developing cost models
  • Risk Analysis & Management
  • Preparation of work proposals/tenders
  • Excellent working knowledge of commercial processes
  • Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships and a collaborative working environment
  • Experience of working on complex, multi- site operations
  • Ability to analyse and report on key business data and metrics
  • Ability and willingness to travel
  • Membership of Professional Body
  • Utility & Carbon Reduction Training would be desirable
