Your New Role

 

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced People Partner to join our Public Estates team, supporting our Complex Facilities Business Unit. This is a full time, permanent role that offers remote/hybrid working. There is an expectation for regular travel to sites across Scotland, Northwest England and down to the Midlands.

 

Our public estates team look after thousands of assets on behalf of the client in secure environments with a business area with 2200 employees providing maintenance and estate management for schools, hospitals and public buildings. 

 

As our People Partner, you will report to the People Director for Complex Facilities and partner with the Business Director and senior management team. This is a generalist role incorporating a mix of strategic and operational HR activity; this could be organisational design and cultural change projects through to managing escalated Employee Relations such as grievance/absence and using data to look at trends.

 

The standard hours of work are based on 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday.

You will be responsible for:

  • Developing a people plan which reflects talent development and resourcing, engagement and organisational development interventions which deliver business unit and corporate objectives
  • Monitoring key performance metrics and identifying trends, providing insight based on data and taking actions to improve performance
  • Developing relationships and working closely with Trade Unions
  • Working in collaboration with the Recruitment, L&D and Rewards teams to embed fit for purpose initiatives. 
  • Line managing and developing a HR Manager
  • Coaching line managers to improve people management and improve performance of their team
  • Designing, developing and delivering change programmes required to meet and exceed customer expectations (mobilisation, organisational restructuring etc.)
  • Embedding the inclusion agenda at Business Unit level.

We want to hear from you if you have:

  • A CIPD qualification of Level 5 as a minimum – Level 7 is highly desirable
  • Experience at People Partner level working for a similar sized organisation within a similar sector
  • Extensive experience with working with Trade unions and the TUPE Process
  • Experience managing complex Employee/Industrial relations cases
  • Experience developing and implementing people plans/strategies/initiatives which have influenced business performance
  • Experience delivering change and transformation projects with successful outcomes
  • Experience in people management
  • Positive, flexible team player
