HSEQ Assurance Manager

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for an Assurance Manager to join the Group Health, Safety and Assurance (H.S.A) team on full time, permanent contract. This is a hybrid role that will require occasional business travel.
Monday – Friday based on 37.5 hours per week.

You will be responsible for ensuring the ongoing monitoring and compliance with third party requirements BS EN ISO 9001 and BS EN ISO 45001, with the aim of continually improving our operating standards and methodology to avoid harm, defects, errors or deficiencies in our operating standards.
Ultimately this role will help the business in enhancing excellence to assure client satisfaction, reduce risk, maintain high health and safety standards, increase efficiency, and build a reputation for delivering high quality services.
What you will do:
- Continually uphold Amey’s core value of ‘safety first, always’, by maintaining and promoting our robust safety measures to minimise the risk of injury or ill health to you and those around you.
- Driving forward our digital vision and working closely with Business Units, where required, to assure consistency across the business.
- Develop, maintain and support the delivery of the management system with a focus on ‘Zero Harm’ and ‘Right First Time’ principles ensuring this is effectively communicated within the wider business.
- Manage all H.S.A related documents in the document management system and manage the H.S.A landing pages on AmeyWorld aligned with the communications team.
- Be the 3rd Party Certification co-ordination owner, ensuring oversight of and support to each operating business for third party assurance planning and activities.
- Actively taking part in audits and other surveillance visits both internally and externally when needed, tracking, and reporting on performance to ensure consistent assurance across the business.
- Monitor and challenge the quality and content of incident entries, close calls and overdue actions to ensure timely closure through engagement with each operational business unit leads and other stakeholders as appropriate.
- Review and advise on the status/content of Group level policies, HSEQ Governance and the HSEQ Manual.
- Ensure weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual and ad hoc H.S.A reports developed and submitted on time.
- Provide advice and undertake audits and inspections as necessary across the business, produce the associated report and track actions to close out and completion.
- Management of key tasks to keep the H.S.A function and the wider business operating efficiently with these tasks.
What you will bring:
- Experience in being digitally sound with digital vision and understanding of AI, and proficient with Word, SharePoint, power BI, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to influence.
- Technical specialist support appropriate for diverse and complex organisations.
- Collaborative ethos to drive through management system compliance and improvement plans.
- Experience in driving continuous improvement of integrated management system and its components.
- Experience in supporting / managing digital platforms.
- Experience in implementing new working methods and initiatives
- Entry level or higher qualification to the CQI or IOSH and can demonstrate they are working towards an advanced level of membership.
