Your New Role:

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Business Development Market Analyst.  Help Amey to deliver its aims of sustainable growth through the provision of solid market analysis.

The role is remote however there will be a need to travel to other sites.

 

The standard hours of work are 37.5 per week.

 

The successful applicant will identify, analyse and communicate the pipeline of future contract opportunities for the Business Unit. The role will involve providing background research and up-to-date analysis on the sector client base which will contribute to the Amey business strategy. Research and analyse the various markets and sectors in which the business unit will/may operate, providing key data and interpretation of the research in concise and relevant reports and conclusions.

The Market Analyst will coordinate the early stages of the work-winning process by supporting the Business Director and Business Development Manager, by providing them with information to facilitate conversations with senior leaders in the identification and selection of procurement opportunities.

You will be responsible for:

  • Assist in the production of market strategy and reports to deliver the Business Plan
  • Ensure a robust work-winning process is initiated and followed (APMP based process and linked to the Pipelines system) to ensure the business development process is delivering tangible outputs.
  • Support the business with high quality, timely intelligence
  • Produce presentation material for internal and external use
  • Liaise with other BD teams to coordinate analysis activity across the business
  • Build an awareness of significant external influencers, organisations and trends
  • Assist Business Development Manager (and BU Executive) with implementation of the Strategic Plan
  • Maintain the pipeline database and the market database
  • Provide market intelligence to support bidding decisions and activities
  • Proactively monitor and disseminate information from identified sources, such as Gov and Public sector portals

 

We want to hear from you if you have/are:

  • Business-related degree or equivalent / Evidence of relevant academic achievement
  • Very strong capability in the use of Office 365 Apps 
  • Strong analytical skills for interpreting data, identifying opportunities, trends and potential changes within Amey’s markets
  • Ability to work unsupervised using initiative to progress development projects
  • Highly organised with strong planning capabilities
  • Ability to digest and communicate both quantitative and qualitative data
  • In depth knowledge of public procurement markets and a willingness to understand potential new customers
  • Ability to build effective relationships, share information and work collaboratively
  • Understands how to ‘manage upwards’ and works professionally with senior managers
  • Preferably worked in a research or analyst role 
  • Some relevant commercial understanding and experience (economics, business plans etc)
