Title: Plumber
We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Plumber to come and join our Scotland school’s account.
This role covers three estates: Borders, Clacks, and Edinburgh, with the primary focus on Edinburgh. You’ll be working across these locations to ensure smooth operations and deliver exceptional service, with Edinburgh being the predominant area of responsibility.
This role is on site based
The standard hours of work are 37.5 hours per week.
The standard working hours are 07:00 to 15:00, Monday to Friday. A 12.5% shift allowance applies for any out-of-hours work. On-call duties typically occur every two months and are compensated at £125 for the week, plus £100 for the first call-out. This role provides support across the entire Scottish Schools network.

We work in partnership with our clients and end-users to ensure our 24/7 services are delivered to the highest standard with minimum impact or disruption to day-to-day operational requirements of the schools.
What you will do:
- Ensuring Health & Safety standards are met across the contract.
- Performing statutory works on time, ensuring compliance.
- Conducting routine and non-routine maintenance, including fault finding and repairs.
- Inspecting, sampling water, and assessing risks to maintain system integrity.
- Repairing mains water supply and address life-expired equipment.
- Monitoring the BMS System to ensure optimal performance.
- Supporting zero carbon initiatives, contributing to sustainability goals.
- Handling additional tasks as directed by your line manager, including working at height and in various weather conditions.
We want to hear from you if you have:
- Appropriate Trade qualification (Level 3)
- Experience in operating light plant
Ideally you will be qualified to NVQ level 3 in Plumbing and Heating with experience in plumbing maintenance, however we may consider applications if you have NVQ level 2.
In addition to this, it would be desirable if you have Legionella Control (L8) and experience in a commercial environment to help you hit the ground running, although this is not essential as we will provide you with the required development you need to bring you up to speed.
