We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Streetlighting Night Scout to join our dynamic Norfolk team at our Brooke Depot (NR151HJ). This role will be carried out around Norfolk.

 

This position offers a competitive salary, this is a night shift, but hours are flexible depending on the seasons/when it gets dark.

 

In this role, you will support the Norfolk Streetlighting account by conducting thorough inspections of street lighting assets across Norfolk.

The Permanent Streetlighting Night Scout plays a crucial role in maintaining the safety and functionality of the region's streetlighting infrastructure. By identifying unlit units, damage, and incorrect asset data, this position ensures that the streets are well-lit and safe for the community. Performing visual inspections during daylight hours and reporting critical assets needing immediate attention aids in swift repairs, reducing the risk of accidents and enhancing public safety. The accurate recording and updating of asset information directly into the database ensures the integrity of maintenance records and supports efficient operations.

This role is vital not only for the Norfolk Streetlighting account but also for the overall well-being and security of the community, reflecting our commitment to excellence and safety.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Scout street lighting assets for unlit units, damage, and incorrect asset data.
  • Conduct visual inspections during daylight hours to ensure the integrity and proper functioning of street lighting units.
  • Report critical assets needing a 2-hour response via phone to ensure timely repairs and maintenance.
  • Use PDA devices to upload asset information directly into the database for accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Attend toolbox meetings to discuss safety protocols, project updates, and team coordination.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations while performing duties.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to prioritise and address urgent issues effectively.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, findings, and actions taken for future reference and audit purposes.
