We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Waste Operative to join our dynamic Trafford Account in Manchester. This role will be based on site at Tatton House, 11 Caldey Road, Roundthorn Industrial Estate, Wythenshawe, Manchester, M23 9LF.
This position offers a competitive salary and overtime.
The standard working hours for this role are 40 hours a week.
In this role, you will support the Trafford Account by maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of the community. By ensuring that waste is managed efficiently and safely, they help create a healthier environment for residents and businesses. Their diligent work supports the Trafford Council's efforts to provide top-notch services, contributing significantly to the overall success of the Trafford Account. Moreover, their commitment to public health and safety enhances the quality of life in the community, fostering a sense of pride and wellbeing among its members.
What You’ll Do:
- Waste management tasks and the overall cleanliness of the highways
- Collecting and disposing of waste materials from streets, roads, and public areas in a safe and efficient manner.
- Operating waste collection vehicles and equipment according to safety guidelines.
- Monitoring and reporting any hazardous waste or illegal dumping activities to the relevant authorities.
- Ensuring that all waste is segregated and disposed of in accordance with environmental regulations.
- Conducting routine maintenance checks on waste management equipment and reporting any faults or necessary repairs.
- Assisting in the planning and implementation of waste reduction initiatives and recycling programs.
