Your New Role

 

We have a fantastic opportunity for Management Accountant to join our Complex Facilities business unit, supporting the MOJ contract on a full time, permanent basis.

 

This role will be based in Leyland and will offer hybrid working with occasional travel.

 

Covering 63 sites with a contract worth circa £175m, you will be reporting to the Finance Manager and will be tasked with finance reporting, planning and analysis support to ensure accurate management accounting information, budgets and forecasts.

The standard hours of work are based on 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday.

You will be responsible for:

  • Liaising with stakeholders to provide guidance and direction to any direct reports and qualify, communicate and fulfil month-end reporting, forecasts and budgets processes
  • Producing high-quality analysis of the information required for monthly results, forecasts, and budgets including variance bridges.
  • Reviewing and completing monthly management accounts with targeted commentary appropriate for senior management reference.
  • Pro-actively addressing issues and anomalies with finance, commercial and operational colleagues, explaining financial terminology to those with non-finance backgrounds.
  • Instigating profit improvement plans in conjunction with operational and commercial managers to drive the contract in achieving forecast and budget aspirations.
  • Understanding of site target operating models, ensuring sites are provided with the correct level of information to allow them to manage labour costs.
  • Producing and tracking contract performance key indicators and measures using dashboards, graphs and visualisations.
  • Retrieve and gather data, analysis and organise to formulate meaningful conclusions.
  • Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are completed and key variances are understood and resolved.
  • Ensure correct measures and controls are in place to support off-line database and SAP data integrity, validation, trend awareness along with cost and revenue match.
  • Liaise with external audit to ensure statutory audit processes can be completed within the prescribed timeframes with no material adjusting audit differences identified.

We want to hear from you if you:

  • Part Qualified / accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Excellent IT Skills including knowledge of Excel (vlookups, pivot tables and sumifs) and SAP
  • Ability to achieve tight deadlines with high degree of quality and understanding.
  • Good knowledge of accounting practices, statutory regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Experience of forecasting
  • Stakeholder management experience
  • Proactive approach to anticipate and resolve protentional differences.
  • Confident at retrieving and gathering data, with the skill to organise it to formulate meaningful conclusions.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience of complex reconciliations would be beneficial.
