Your New Role:

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Continuous Improvement (CI) Coach to join our front-line teams, including supply chains and National Accommodation Management Service (NAMS) representatives to positively impact performance levels and improve customer satisfaction in the housing environment. CI Coaches will be embedded within the region to ensure all staff are supported to improve at the operational level. This post is remote with extensive travel covering a large area of the contract. Driving License Essential.

CI Coaches plays an important part in being a positive ambassador for Amey with Service Families, stakeholder groups and the community.

You will be responsible for:

  • Liaising with senior leaders, operations managers, supply chain representatives and other operational business support staff to design and deliver best-practice. (Travel will be required to potentially multiple sites as well overnight stays)
  • Building strong, long lasting relationships with operational and supply chain representatives
  • Ensuring your project deliverables are up to a high standard and delivered within agreed timeframes with management
  • Effectively utilise lean six sigma tools such as A3, root cause analysis, Gemba, Implementation planning through to sustainment
  • Designing and documenting current state business processes capturing key detail on ‘as is’ way of working through to future state mapping that align with agreed organisational goals
  • Proactively identifying continuous improvement opportunities and achieving business specific goals and benefits
  • Coaching and developing business areas in the use of lean methodologies and tools embedding a true culture of continuous improvement.
  • Using the full power of the available analysis and feedback, provide advice, insights, and training to drive innovation and improve performance activities throughout the region.
  • Help shape the culture and processes required for innovation to succeed and flourish.
  • Identify cost saving and performance enhancing ideas & projects via best practice. Design and implement new processes and procedures to improve time, cost and or performance.
  • Use data analysis to ensure that any change to a process has a positive impact.
  • Identify issues, trends and behaviours that negatively impact performance or may result in unforeseen consequences.
  • Assist with the collection of appropriate data to enable effective analysis of cost, performance, and risk to support informed decision making by Amey and the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO)..

What makes this role unique is you will develop and maintain effective collaborative relationships with Amey Operational Managers, Performance Analysts and NAMS staff as well as Supply Chain and DIO staff.

 

We want to hear from you if you have:

  • 2 - 3 years of Lean / Operational excellence / Continuous Improvement / Process excellence experience
  • Proven background in delivering change within organisations through improving processes utilising lean methodologies
  • Leading projects across multiple business areas
  • Design and document current state & future state mapping working with business area SME’s, operations managers and supply chain representatives
  • Conduct thorough data analysis of current business performance to identify trends, gap analysis, inefficiencies and areas for improvement
  • Robust analytical toolkit
  • Comfortable handling and interpreting complex data to make informed and impactful decisions
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to present findings and projects initiatives to stakeholders and senior management when required
  • Engaging style, great and passionate communicator
  • Proficient in the use of MS Excel (graphical analysis, pivot tables, VLOOKUP) / MS PowerPoint and MS word
  • Experience in driving change in an operational environment and knowledge of working within a B to B and B to C customer focused environment
  • Previous experience as a Coach and Mentor to help you hit the ground running, although this is not essential as we will provide you with the required development you need to bring you up to speed.
  • ILM Level Three Award in Coaching and Mentoring qualification or equivalent or  relevant experience would be desirable.
  • Lean 6 Sigma or equivalent qualification support by experience in an operational environment, desirable
