Your New Role

 

We have a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Project Manager to join our Asset Management Team. This role would be suited to a candidate based around Glasgow or Perth, as we cover from Inverness to Stranraer over our South West and North East accounts.

 

The Project Manager plays an important part assisting Assist the Roads/Planned maintenance managers, in running a successful and challenging Structural maintenance programme as part of the Asset Management Team.

 

The standard hours of work are 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday.

 

You will be responsible for:

  • Oversee the planning and implementation of the investigation programme.
  • Line managers responsibilities.
  • Working across Polmadie/Perth and Aberdeen offices.
  • Checking and approving technical pavement proposals (SOII + SOIA)’s.
  • Assist with preparing technical documents and reports.
  • Maintain high technical standards consistent with the project scope/brief.
  • Provide design and specialist advice in relevant specialisms.
  • Assist the Planned Maintenance Manager to monitor scheme progress and budget in line with business needs whilst meeting the quality requirements in accordance with DMRB, MCHW, TSRGD and ensure IMS compliant.
  • Use of Transport Scotland’s Asset Management Performance System (AMPS) for scheme identification, development and recording of maintenance intervention.
  • Manage project related correspondence from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Attend meetings with the Client (Technical Workshops) to discuss SOI SA treatment proposals.
  • Demonstrate technical leadership and provide both expertise and advice to clients and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant Health and Safety Legislation (CDM2015).
  • Always ensure compliance with the operating company's management system.
  • Coach and mentor junior members of staff.
  • Assist budget manager deliver works budget and programme.
  • Travelling between different offices/depot’s, will be required on a regular basis.

We want to hear from you are/have:

  • Familiar with Scottish Trunk Road Maintenance Contracts and Structural Maintenance schemes through identification of network needs and demonstrate delivery of the RAMP objectives.
  • Sound knowledge & experience in the field of pavement maintenance.
  • Full awareness of Health & Safety legislation and how it’s applied to the investigation, design and construction process within the roads sector.
  • The capabilities to meet tight schedules and targets and as well as coach, develop and mentor junior team members in their professional development.
  • Excellent planning skills and be able to adapt to changes in line with business needs.
  • Through your career to date, you’ve acquired skills in project, commercial, financial and programme management and the development of collaborative working relationships to achieve the result.
  • Self-motivated and be pro-active in terms of delivering solutions
  • CSCS and Site Management Safety (CITB)

 

In addition to this, it would be desirable if you have a degree in an appropriate engineering discipline with demonstratable industry experience OR working towards or have Incorporated/Chartered Status with an appropriate engineering institution including the Institution of Civil Engineers, the Institute of Highway Engineers and the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation. Extensive experience in pavement rehabilitation will also be considered.

 

It is essential you hold a full driving licence to be considered for this role.
