We have a fantastic opportunity for a Planner (Highways) to join us to join our NMC SW account in Glasgow. This is a full-time permanent position working 40 hours per week.

 

Our NMC SW account is working in partnership with Transport Scotland Southwest since August 2020, we are responsible for inspections, cyclical maintenance, asset management, scheme delivery as well as winter maintenance and incident response.

 

Our team are first on the scene to assist road users on the road network, deliver engineering design and operational delivery services for more than 600 kilometres of road and 1,650 structures enabling reliable journey times and a high level of customer care for the people and businesses that use these roads every day.

 

By ensuring our roads and highways are well-maintained through all-weather seasons and traffic incidents, we aim to create well-functioning, safe spaces which minimise disruption, keep people moving and support thriving communities.

The Planner (Highways) plays an important role in assisting the JTRC in the management of the roadspace and SRWR bookings from Scheme Delivery ensuring that all scheme programmes are coordinated and proactively updated.

 

You will be responsible for:

  • Working with Scheme Delivery to understand Scheme Traffic Management Requirements to ensure roadspace is accurately plotted 
  • Provide advice, guidance and training to internal teams
  • Ensure that the Master Programme information is kept fully up to date
  • Carry out conflict checking of roadspace entries ensuring that coordination of Traffic Management opportunities are fully utilised 
  • Ensure high standards of programming are carried out to meet client and contract requirements
  • Develop and improve working practices and see innovative solutions
  • Be the key person to manage the On/Off times for scheme planned works ensuring any changes are effectively communicated
  • Reviewing site specific traffic management drawings ensuring accuracy
  • Carry out site visits to ensure traffic management set ups are compliant
