We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Facilities Manager in HMP Long Lartin.

The standard hours of work are 39 hours per week, Monday – Friday. There will be occasional requirements for weekend overtime and on-call cover, offered on an ad-hoc basis—providing you with flexibility and the chance to earn additional pay while supporting our essential services.

At Amey, we’re supporting our justice client, His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) by providing them with safe, clean and efficient prisons. By using our facilities management expertise, we help keep 60 secure premises across England and Wales running smoothly.

 

The Assistant Facilities Manager play a key role in supporting the Facilities Manager and leading teams to deliver high standards of service, compliance, and safety, making a real difference every day.

What you will do:

  • Support the Facilities Manager in the delivery and strategic management of a range of facilities services, ensuring all contractual, legislative, and operational requirements are met.
  • Oversee Team Leaders and their teams, ensuring effective service delivery, compliance, and high standards within a secure environment.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop teams to achieve contract KPIs and service level agreements, resolving problems promptly and professionally.
  • Build strong working relationships with on-site customers, prison staff, and supply chain partners, ensuring customer requirements are met and satisfaction remains high.

What you will bring:

  • Flexible, self-motivated, and resilient approach, with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
  • Recognised and relevant technical or FM qualification (e.g., IOSH Managing Safely) – required.
  • Experience in Facilities Management, ideally within a secure or complex environment, including first line management and supply chain management.
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements and legislation.
