We have a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Gas Combustion Engineer (non-domestic) to join our Edinburgh/Borders school account.

This role is on-site based.

The standard hours of work are 37.5 Hours per week

Join our dynamic team as a Gas Combustion Engineer and take charge of maintaining heating systems across Edinburgh and Borders schools.
You’ll be responsible for covering approximately 20 sites, working alongside a team of around 18 engineers.

Commercial gas qualifications and Gas Safe registration are essential, as you’ll be ensuring a warm, safe, and comfortable environment for our educational facilities.


With a company van at your disposal, you’ll need a full UK Driving Licence to navigate between sites efficiently.

Gas combustion Engineer’s play an important part Working in a secure environment, you will be part of a team of engineers that demonstrate superb technical competency, delivering mission critical.

 

You will be responsible for:

  • Routine and non-routine maintenance.
  • Fault finding Identification of life expired equipment. Work with a variety of plant equipment such as gas appliances, gas boilers, heating plant, pumps and ventilation. Minor plumbing work will be required.
  • Check, repair and mend faults and life expired equipment.
  • Inspections and risk assessment.
  • Minimise wastage and continually improve processes.
  • Ensure statutory works are carried out to time and that work is compliant.
  • This role may include working at height and in all weather conditions.
  • Occasionally you may be requested to undertake work outside of your role, by your line manager.

 

We want to hear from you if you have:

  • Full driving licence.
  • Relevant commercial gas qualifications including: COCN1, CCN1, TPCP1, TPCP1A, CODNCO1, CGGA1, CIGA1, CENWAT1
  • Proven experience carrying out service and breakdown on industrial/commercial boilers and appliances and should hold strong technical knowledge with fault finding and diagnostic ability.
  • Plumbing experience will be advantageous.
