The Opportunity

 

We, at Amey, are thrilled to announce our expansion across Ireland. With our office located in central Dublin, we are set to grow our presence across the Republic of Ireland over the coming months, building on our existing presence in Northern Ireland. This expansion will bolster our support for a range of major Highway and Railway projects across the island.

 

Our expertise in the asset management, design, procurement, and supervision of major infrastructure in the Highways, railways and property sectors has driven our success. In addition to our offices in London, Birmingham, Liverpool, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Belfast, we are intensifying our investment in Ireland, and over the past six months, have established a small team of dedicated professionals.

 

Our Director, Rodney Moffett, highlighted recent Government commitments to investments in transport infrastructure, Metrolink, Luas extensions, and BusConnects. Additionally, significant upgrades to electricity infrastructure across the island underscore our strategic decision to invest in Ireland.

 

The Role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Finance Manager to join our Consulting design hub in Dublin. This is a hybrid role, offering you flexibility to work between the office and home.

Responsibilities include:

  • Responsibility for supporting the financial management of CBCIW to ensure its successful completion within the approved budget, and that it delivers value for money
  • Assist the NTA with a range of costing and financial activities which may include the review, development and implementation of processes, procedures and systems to be used in the planning, estimating, budgeting, funding, managing and controlling of costs
  • Support the Commercial and Cost Management Lead in leading the Commercial and Cost Management sub-functional areas, assuming responsibility for the performance management of CP personnel deployed within the sub-functional areas and leading the continuous drive towards a high-performance culture
  • Develop and maintain a detailed resourcing plan for the Commercial and Cost Management sub-functional areas
  • Oversee the day-to-day activities of the CP personnel deployed within the sub-functional areas, ensuring they are carrying out their relevant tasks efficiently and effectively to ensure the successful delivery of CBCIW

 

 

What you will bring to us:

  • Extensive experience in financial and cost management with a proven track record of carrying out financial management activities in high value road and / or infrastructure projects or projects of a similar scale and complexity to CBCIW
  • Further demonstrated experience and knowledge in the following is desirable:
    • Designing and implementing the financial management frameworks
    • Delivering financial management in major projects environments to enable achievement of project goals and objectives
    • Financial management principles, methods, techniques and tools, including the standard method of measurement
    • Facilitating collaboration with project stakeholder to ensure consistency and transparency in approach and data
    • Working in a comparable consultancy environment, or with a client or contractor organisation
    • Completing site profit appraisals and cashflows
    • Fundraising, banking, and associated reporting
    • Contributing to the monthly performance reporting process
    • Preparing timely and accurate management reports
    • Collecting, analysing, comparing, and interpreting data and providing trends
    • Preparing rolling forecasts
    • Tracking and determining financial status by analysing actual results in comparison with forecasts
    • Consolidating and analysing financial data (budgets, income statement forecasts etc)
    • Developing financial models, conduct benchmarking, and process analysis
    • Conducting business studies on past, future and comparative performance and develop forecast models
    • Designing and implementing cost and estimating frameworks
    • Delivering cost and estimating management in major projects environments to enable achievement of project goals and objectives
    • Cost analysis, cost modelling and benchmarking processes and techniques
    • Finance systems and toolkits
    • Influencing positive outcomes to challenging situations both with and without authority
    • Project Controls functional set-up
    • Change management and continuous improvement
    • Information management and reporting
    • Delivering within regulated and unionised environments
    • Managing high-performing staff / teams including carrying out performance management, undertaking resource planning and embedding a focus on continuous improvement and best-practice
    • Delivering solutions and results in dynamic and technically complex and high value infrastructure projects
  • Ability to manage multiple technical requirements and teams within a construction environment
  • Ability to deal with and resolve unforeseen risks and issues
  • Chartered Accountant membership is desirable
  • Bachelor's degree in finance or related degree
