Your New Role


We have a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Traffic Management Foreman (LTMO) to join our Area 10 account in Bolton. 

 

Working with National Highways, Amey provides Maintenance and Response services for more than 300 miles of strategic road network in the Northwest, including some of the region’s busiest motorways: the M6, M56 and M62. Amey’s Highways business also carries out grass cutting, sign cleaning and pothole repairs, as well as providing traffic management, incident response and winter maintenance services, including gritting and snow clearance.

 

The standard hours of work are 42 hours per week with rotating day and night shifts

 

You will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining high technical standards and solutions
  • Attending project briefings as required
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant health and safety legislation
  • Managing and mentoring apprentices and operatives and coordinate the work of others as necessary
  • The security of vehicles/plant and materials under their direct control and to plan work and estimate vehicle/plant and material requirements.
  • Carrying out a wide range of general maintenance tasks e.g. drainage, kerbing, fencing, walling, sweeping, signing, patching, traffic management etc.
  • Driving/Operating vehicles/plant requiring general and specialist skills including vehicle checks, routine maintenance, (e.g. oil and water checks etc.) and cleaning.
  • Keeping records, completing all necessary paperwork, communicating and liaising with other employees of Amey, sub-contractors, the emergency services, the police, the general public, clients and customers.
  • Reporting any Health and Safety, team or performance concerns to the Supervisor.

 

We want to hear from you if you have:

  • Driving Licence
  • HGV Class 2 Licence
  • Appropriate legislative and compliance HSEA training
  • Appropriate CSCS card or equivalent competency card
  • CITB Site Safety Management (or equivalent)
  • Experience of Chapter 8 and Traffic Management on High speed roads
  • Personal Highway Safety Certificate
  • Skills
  • Experience with delivering Emergency service and winter service
  • Experience of managing a workforce
  • Experience as a Highways Operative
