Title: Social Value Manager
We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Social Value Manager. The role is remote ideally within travel across Manchester, Midlands, London and the South.
HOURS OF WORK: Monday to Friday, 37.5 Hours
At Amey, we’re looking for a collaborative individual to join us as a Social Value Manager within the Group ESG Team to lead on social value performance and programme management. If you thrive on collaboration and problem solving, we want to hear from you.
You’ll be the go-to expert and for social value insight, measurement and best practice across Amey.
Reporting to the Group ESG Director, you’ll lead on our measurement and continuous improvement of social value activity – and its impact - across the company and communities in which we operate. You’ll work closely with internal teams from across the Amey Business Units and Enabling Functions (i.e. People, Procurement, IT etc)
The role will also take a lead in coordinating the delivery of one or two strategic social value programmes that arise. These may include for example the management of charitable partnerships or education and STEM programmes.
What you will do:
- Leading on the management and development of Social Value measurement tools, systems, and frameworks. Experience of utilising the Thrive social value tool would be beneficial.
- Measuring, auditing, reporting and presenting social value performance across the value chain, promoting and leveraging our successes.
- Driving innovation and improvement across social value initiatives, to realise genuine and lasting positive impact
- Supporting work-winning efforts, inputting into compelling social value proposals and case studies. Engaging the wider business to support with development of case study material.
- Monitoring industry trends and benchmarking performance to inform future strategy
- Lead on strategic projects or programmes, that support our wider social value goals.
- Representing Amey at industry events and contributing to thought leadership
- Delivering training and awareness sessions to embed social value across the business unit
What you will bring:
- Experience in social value, sustainability performance management or a related field
- Strong project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Knowledge of the UK Government Social Value Act
- Knowledge of measuring frameworks such as Thrive and TOMs
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to influence and inspire across all levels
- A genuine passion for impact, with a drive to innovate and lead change
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and performance reporting tools
- Membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., Institute of Social Value, ICRS, IEMA, CIPD) is desirable
