The Team

At the West Midlands Design Hub, we are a passionate and forward-thinking group of engineers, architects, designers, and consultants dedicated to shaping the future of infrastructure across the UK. As part of Amey Consulting, our team works on a wide variety of projects, from highways and rail networks to energy and environmental services, delivering sustainable and innovative solutions.

The Placement Programme

Our one year placements are designed for students currently pursuing a degree and seeking practical work experience. During your placement:

• You will assist in developing and refining design solutions, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure that our projects meet the highest standards of quality, sustainability, and efficiency.
• Gain hands-on experience supporting on live projects that have a real impact on local and national infrastructure.
• Benefit from mentorship by industry experts, learning from some of the best minds in the field.

You’ll have a dedicated ‘buddy’ and mentor to guide you, helping you settle into your role and develop the skills and knowledge needed to succeed.

What we need from you

Minimum requirements:

• Able to start the placement on 1st September 2025
• Commitment to complete the placement for the duration.
• Currently studying towards a degree in a related subject.
