The Team

 

The Energy Transition and Sustainability team, they undertake environmental assessments and reviews for a range of infrastructure projects. These include road schemes, rail maintenance and flood alleviation schemes. Disciplines range from ecology, landscape/visual, cultural heritage, air quality, noise as well as generalists.

 

The Placement Programme

 

Our one year placements are designed for students currently pursuing a degree and seeking practical work experience. During your placement:

 

  • You will assist in providing support to a team of Environmental Consultants in Belfast and across the wider UK team. This will include: assist the team in collating baseline environmental data for particular schemes and projects. This is addressed through consultation and through review of published information on the web and GIS databases. Assisting the relevant technical specialists in gathering site information, such as Phase I habitat surveys, water constraint mapping, general site walkovers. You will assist in producing reports or early determination of environmental constraints and will be provided the opportunity to undertake environment impact reporting and to gain more involvement in a particular area of interest, where feasible.  You will also assist in general administration and correspondence within the Environment team.
  • Gain hands-on experience supporting the environmental assessment and monitoring of infrastructure schemes at pre and post planning stage.
  • Benefit from mentorship by industry experts, learning from some of the best minds in the field.

 

You’ll have a dedicated ‘buddy’ and mentor to guide you, helping you settle into your role and develop the skills and knowledge needed to succeed.

What we need from you

 

Minimum requirements:

  • Able to start the placement on 1st September 2025
  • Commitment to complete the placement for the duration.
  • Currently studying towards a degree in a related subject.
