Our 150 strong Belfast Design Hub delivers a range of local, national and international projects for clients including Department for Infrastructure – TRAM (Roads) & WDD (Rivers), Translink, National Highways, Transport Scotland and Network Rail. The Placement Programme
Our one-year placements are tailored for students currently pursuing a degree who are eager to gain practical work experience. During your placement, you will:
- Engage in technical tasks that align with your abilities and competence, allowing you to apply your academic knowledge in real-world scenarios.
- Gain hands-on experience by supporting key projects—preparing design calculations, drawings, and documents. You'll also participate in site visits, conduct surveys and inspections, and oversee subcontractors to ensure project success.
- Benefit from the mentorship of industry experts, learning directly from some of the best minds in the field.
You’ll be supported by a dedicated ‘buddy’ and mentor, who will guide you as you settle into your role and help you develop the skills and knowledge necessary for success.

What we need from you
Minimum requirements:
- Able to start the placement in September 2025.
- Commitment to complete the placement for the duration.
- Currently studying towards a degree in a related subject.
