Title: General Operative/Handyperson
We have fantastic opportunities for Permanent General Operative/Handyperson to join Belfast account in Grosvenor Grammar School, Marina Park, Belfast BT5 6BA. This role is on-site based.
The salary is £27,234.00 per annum
The hours of work will be 37.5 per week
Monday – Friday shift work on 3 week rotation
Week 1: 6:30am – 2:30pm
Week 2: 10:30am – 6:30pm
Week 3: 2:30pm – 10:30pm
Amey provides facilities and estate management services at Belfast Schools.
They work closely with clients and end-users to deliver 24/7 services with minimal disruption to the college's operations.
What you will do:
- Ensure smooth running of the school premises
- Opening the building in the morning and locking it at the end of the day
- Carrying out day-to-day DIY/maintenance and minor repairs (i.e. furniture fixtures)
- To ensure heating, lighting and alarm systems are working properly
- Booking engineer for major repair work
- Daily responsible to check that all doors and windows are locked when the building is not in use
- Checking the premises to guard against vandalism
- Arranging chairs and tables for meetings or assemblies and clearing away afterwards
- Working under direction of team lead
- Always keeping in line with best practice and health and safety regulations.
- Carrying out PPM’s
What you will bring:
- Knowledge and previous experience in practical DIY skills for minor repair
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude
- Good Team Player
- Flexible with shift work
- Good at developing strong working relationships with on-site client and employees
- Committed to providing excellent customer service
- Knowledgeable of Health and Safety regulation
- Familiar with COSHH standards Basic IT skills
