Your New Role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Works Coordinator to join our Kent County Council Account in Aylesford. This role will be based on-site, on a hybrid basis, at Aylesford Highways Depot, ME20 7BU.

 

The salary for this role is £26,000 per annum.

 

The standard hours of work are 40 hours per week with 3 days in the office and 2 days from home (after a 12 week probationary period)

 

As an Operational Controller at Amey, your primary objective is to effectively plan and manage work for multiple gangs daily, adhering to procedures outlined by the Highways Industry Standards and embodying Amey's Core Values to ensure customer satisfaction. You will play a crucial role in overseeing the daily activities of gangs/operations, managing resources efficiently, and coordinating with supervisors to resolve on-site issues promptly. Your meticulous attention to detail and proactive approach will contribute to the delivery of high-quality services within agreed timescales, in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and commercial contracts.

 

You will be responsible for:

  • Approval of draft resource programme
  • Management of daily gang activities against the programme, ensuring compliance with agreed timescales, SLAs, and commercial contracts
  • Coordination with supervisors to address on-site issues effectively
  • Review of suspended and rejected jobs on the Works Management system
  • Level 1 review of completed jobs for quality and accuracy of data, including labour, plant, materials, and photos
  • Production of daily and weekly reports on gang activity and performance data
  • Scheduling and coordination of emergency and less than 24-hour works for the current day
  • Liaison with supervisors to provide updates on performance
  • Review of programme quality with pre-works coordinator
  • Keeping clients informed about planned work activities
  • Liaison with emergency services as necessary
  • Communication with all relevant parties to ensure daily performance targets are met
  • Delivery and continuous improvement of service levels
  • Maximisation of resource productivity by reducing wasted time, materials, and operational costs

 

We want to hear from you if you have:

  • Excellent organisational, planning, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Detailed awareness of NRSWA (New Roads and Street Works Act) and Permitting is desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience working on a Highways Maintenance Contract is desirable.
  • Detailed knowledge of highways operations.
  • Experience in planning and coordination roles.
