How do I apply for a live role?
Simply search for the right role for you, register your details and click apply.

Can I apply for more than one role?
Yes. We encourage you to apply for all roles that match your skills and experience.

Can I apply for the position if the closing date has passed?
Sadly not. However, you can sign up to our Talent Community and be the first to hear about future opportunities.

What is a Talent Community?
Our Talent Community is the best way to stay informed about future opportunities. Tell us a bit about yourself and register, and we’ll keep you updated with the latest opportunities that match your skills and experience.

Can I apply for a position in the UK if I need a work permit?
You will be asked for evidence of your right to live and work in the UK, typically a UK/EU passport or work permit. We are unable to provide support with obtaining work permits, except in the rare case of a critical skills shortage.

If I'm not successful this time, can I apply again?
Absolutely. If you see another role that matches your skills and experience, we encourage you to apply again. You can also sign up to our Talent Community to be the first to hear about future opportunities.

Do you have an equal opportunities policy?
Yes. We treat all applications equally, and yours will be considered regardless of age, disability, sex or gender identity, sexual orientation, race, marital status, pregnancy or maternity status, or religion or beliefs.

How does the interview process work?
Our interview process is based on the requirements of the role. We typically use competency-based interviewing, psychometric testing, and assessment centres, but on occasion may use other selection tools where appropriate. We know the process can seem daunting, but our Resourcing team will ensure that you are fully briefed and prepared for any interview.

Are travelling expenses for interviews/assessment centres covered?
Sorry but no. We do not offer any reimbursement for expenses incurred in attending an interview or an assessment centre.

How long does the selection process take?
There is no fixed timeframe for the selection process. For more senior roles, you might meet us on several occasions before we reach a decision. However, we do understand the pressures of looking for work and try to make the process as quick as possible for you.

I can’t find the answer to my query – can I contact you directly?
Of course. You can email us at recruitment@amey.co.uk or call us on 01865 713 101.

Your Early Careers application journey

Your Early Careers application journey

What Early Careers programmes are on offer?
We offer graduate, apprenticeship, and placement opportunities across the UK in areas such as engineering, design, finance, project management, and business management.

What are the steps in applying for a programme?
Step 1 - Follow the link to apply and answer a few simple questions so that we can ensure that you meet our essential initial criteria. We try to keep these to a minimum so please ensure that you qualify before applying.
Step 2 - You will be asked to take part in our online, game-based behavioural assessment. Whilst our assessment is underpinned by serious behavioural science, we want you to relax, be yourself and enjoy our recruitment process. Upon completion, you will receive a free personal profile to help you understand your natural behaviours better.
Step 3 - After comparing your natural behaviours with those required for the role, you will be invited to either an informal online briefing or 1-2-1 discussion, where you will learn more about the specific role you applied for and get a feel for what life is really like at Amey.
Step 4 - If we are both still excited about each-other, those identified with the closest matching natural behaviours will be invited to either an interview or Assessment Centre, where you will meet members of our team, have a Strengths-Based interview and take part in an interactive team activity with fellow applicants.
Step 5 - Regardless of outcome we provide individual feedback to those who reach our interview/assessment centre stage.

What is a game-based behavioural assessment?
Rather than having to answer a series of questions, a game-based behavioural assessment allows you to display your natural behaviours by completing a mini tasks.

Why do we use it?
We want your application journey to be engaging and free from natural bias, while ensuring that your natural behaviour are a match for our ethos. The assessment compares your behaviours to specific behaviours that are crucial for high performance, putting disability, sex or gender identity, sexual orientation, race, marital status, pregnancy or maternity status, or religion or beliefs aside.

Where can I go if I still have questions?
You can reach out to earlycareersrecruitment@amey.co.uk. Our Resourcing Team will be more than happy to assist you.

Recruitment scams

Recruitment scams

I have received an email asking me to apply for a job. What should I do?
We are aware of recent incidents involving people falsely claiming to recruit people on our behalf, issuing false contracts and soliciting personal details and/or money to process security checks, etc. Please be assured we never make job offers without going through our formal recruitment process.

How can I tell if a job offer is fraudulent?
We will never contact you from a non-Amey email address and you should treat emails from Yahoo, Gmail etc as fraudulent. You should also report any application forms you receive via email as this won’t have come from us. If we need to call you, we’ll always ring from a registered company phone, not a mobile number. And we won’t request any form of payment or personal or financial information - ever.

What else can I do if I receive a suspicious recruitment offer?
If you believe you have been defrauded, stop all communication and report the fraud to the authorities, i.e. your local police station or Action Fraud and provide them with all the relevant information. If you have provided bank details, contact your bank immediately.
We recommend that you do not respond to unsolicited job opportunities from people you don’t know. Report any instances of fraudulent approaches or job offers to us at peopleservices@amey.co.uk

If this is not adhered to, we reserve the right to contact these candidates directly and have discussions with them without paying any agency fees.

Submission of any unsolicited CVs or proposals to Amey will be deemed evidence of full and unlimited acceptance of our agency policy.
